I found a few topics online that discuss this issue: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/396055/Charging+port+won't+charge+batteries https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/smok-al85-charging-issues.813775/ It seems the main point they make is that it's better to charge externally with a smart charger, or finding a wall adapter that supports your device.
