This is so cool, where does one find these?Did my first trial run in the 1/4 Potjies. Smallish beef cubes, onions, potatoes, carrots, baby marrows, celary, sliced beans and we spiced to our individual liking. My wife made more of a soup than a Potjie. Mine was a properly layered Potjie. I only added gravy powder to thicken at the end, My wife added in the beginning after I suggested she didn't. Her pot had much more baked onto the bottom of the pot than mine. Only poped the pots back on the burners with water in after dishing up and used the remaining gel to heat them up. Food was delicious and more than enough for each of us. As I've got older my appetite is definitely smaller. What a lot of people do is start cooking a second Potjie once they've dished up.

All over if you Google 1/4 Potjie. I think Checkers currently has the best prices. But it's only for the pot. Google 1/4 Potjie Stand for the stands. This is so cool, where does one find these?
I've always wondered why they still sell these small ones.Did my first trial run in the 1/4 Potjies. We were out cooking for about 1 hour 20 minutes. I improvised some wind shields and it went quicker then.I've always wondered why they still sell these small ones.
I wasn't aware it's a one meal pot. Always thought it would work lekka as a braai sauce pot ,but always just used the stainless saucepan thing.
How long did you're meals cook?
Charcoal wouldn't really be practical siting around a table socialising. Especially on a plastic or wooden table. LOL.Would probably be faster on charcoal too.
I like that idea.
Give me an idea for a family getogether . Thanks @Stew
