Hi all

We are pleased to announce our next JHB VapeMeet. For those who missed the last one, here is your chance. This will be the last one for 2015.

Our next ECIGSSA JHB VapeMeet will take place on Saturday 28 November.
It will be held at NewsCafe Sandton
and will start at 12h00

The address of NewsCafe Sandton is:
Shop 5, 24 Central Centre, Corner Gwen Lane & Fredman Drive, Sandton



It is a lovely venue and should even be better this time because they have done some good renovations to the outside section.

Once again, it will be a fantastic opportunity to get together again and socialise...

I think ultimately it will lead to an ECIGSSA Cape Town Vape Meet of sorts. Quite a bunch of folks though, might have to book if it's at a restaurant.

I think it would be lekker if we could organise a vape community braai one night at a applicable spot like a lapa or something

Indeed, there is every intention to organise a Cape Town Vape Meet
We have had two or three so far and very successful - but there has been quite a long gap

We are working on it -

Just bear with us for about a week or so

Agreed and guilty as charged -
Cape Town has however for a number of reasons proved to be more challenging -
I can assure you that there has been effort in this regard.

Hopefully there will be a Cape Town vape meet at some point - but this time I am not going to make any promises on timing

Hi @WHITELABEL - I have actually spoken to them about the parking. It is a separate company that runs the parking, so I don't think we will have any luck for a discount.

However, just to clarify

Their parking is Monday to Saturday on the normal timed rates. And Sunday it is a flat reduced rate.
But our meet takes place on a Saturday, so we follow the normal rates.
But I did check, its about R20 for 3 to 4 hours or so.

The problem is for those of us that go there very early (I was there in the morning at about 9am) and leave very late - we had dinner next door - so we only left close to midnight. So I was there for about 15 hours in total and my bill was R75.

However, the majority of vape meet attendees would arrive at around 12 and leave a few hours later - so the parking bill is far more reasonable. Around R20 or thereabouts.

That said @WHITELABEL, I am going to chat to NewsCafe again and see if there is anything they can do for us.

It's a common practice unfortunately to stop office workers in the area parking in places reserved for stores and restaurants. Plenty of Malls will do the same with a big jump up after a certain amount of time. The area also doesn't help with a ton of office blocks around.

Whoohoo! This is going to be so awesome! I will definitely be there, somehow

Personally I would be more than happy to pay R100 to know that my car is safe for the day than leave it exposed on a sidewalk somewhere. The biggest pain we had last time was that after the meet we couldn't find an ATM that worked and everyone's card machines were on strike too, must have been a network problem.
