Wouldn't or be cheaper to paint with glow in the dark paint? The button that is

Can do, but proper Lume paint is hell of expensive, and won't last long on the Fire button

I like it. It also serves as a kind of safety for accidental firing.
Yip, I agree. Should we not do the same for the other buttons - as a safety for accidental activation. Or will that be an overkill or too expensive? Also, if that is adequate safety for the firing button, we could move it back to where you had it, especially if better for wiring (the less and shorter wiring the better methinks) and firing with the thumb?

Good suggestion for other buttons as well, wire length on this short distance not really an issue (more than 100mm, yes than we have to go thicker wires on high current carrying wires). I've never operated a box mod, so I can't comment on that issue.

We have a bit more "vleis" on the top section than the side section. If we want to put the button back and recces all the buttons, we have to thicken the side of the casing and it will increase in width. I can do that, but then we must be shure that this is what we want to do. It will have to increase by 2mm to accommodate the switch and recces. Must I go ahead? Also, there will not be enough space for such a big recces around the bottom buttons so I will have to update the recces on the fire button to look symmetrical to the up/down buttons.

I think you must just wait a wee bit before changing again - You guys that use box mods, what Fire button position is the most convenient; Top or Side?

found a box almost the exact same size as the given dimensions. button on top is a wee bit akward to get to with thumb, nice and relaxed push action when used form side, just worried lower part of hand will press bottom buttons the whole time

Awesome @denizenx ! That makes sense. What if we put the up/down switches on top?

or screen a little lower with the 2 buttons slightly above the screen, so from top to bottom, fire button, adjust buttons then screen ?

Wat about putting the screen and up Down on the top and only fire on the side

No, the recces fire button on the side and the up/down buttons on top.
Nope, if I understand correctly then you would have to increase the width by 2 mm? Methinks we must not go a mm wider than is. Rather then have all the buttons on top with the fire button nearest to the thumb to avoid accidental touching of the up/down buttons - good point @denizenx. All buttons recessed. With the buttons on top one can also hold the mod almost completely in your hand, which is not the case otherwise - see denizenx's model. Or am I missing something. Think we must have patience with this, it is important.

@denizenx, hold that box of yours with the thumb on the imaginary firing button on top near the side panel and post a picture and tell us how it feels.

just remember my hands are not exactly standard man size hands, a little smaller than most. and i'm righthanded. that said
easiest so far i've found to activate a top firing button is with my finger on the top like that (first pic)
second pic shows me trying to use my thumb but it's pretty akward. bigger hands might find it easier.
3rd pic shows me pushing an imaginary button somewhere on the top front side, which is pretty easy and comfortable also. its also quite comfortable to use my index finger holding it like that to push a top button.
i did stick the drip tip in my mouth as test each time to properly test for comfort
