So I built my first coils for my IGO-L.....first one was 9 wraps 28G on a 2mm screwdriver.....1.8 Ohms
Naahhh...that ain't gonna do....what is the point then?
Take 2 - 6 wraps 28G on a 2mm screwdriver - 1.3 Ohms - Booyaaa (can't really go lower on the SVD now can I)
So I wet her..... hit the SVD up to 12watts and start sucking.......Hot damn........this shit be good....real good........flavour is just awesome.......... OK go for the kill - 15 watts .....now we talking........friggin awesome
But wait..........where's the killer TH? Where's that 18MG Cuban hiding........get over here ho!!!!

But wait........it's a bit tight......I'm looking for that vape *****.......not a virgin.........
So I run to the garage........out with the 2mm bits (remember @Smokyg drilled his to 2mm) stick it in the cordless drill and slowly go at it..........10 minutes later........still not through.......change bit........10 min later .........still not through.........now my patience is wearing thin.... I know it's friggin SS but this is ridiculous.......get out the machine oil and run the drill at full rpms..........

Remove the oil...... another new drill bit....slowly...........20 min later.....still not through.........battery dies........take out the 2nd cordless........20 min later that battery dies too.......

So turned down to 12 watts and closed the hole a bit ........ Can't get used to this. Besides the 18 mg Silver (I was looking for it).......this will make my Protank 2 mini's unusable as I would have to vape the whole tank before it even resembles a hit from this.....
I don't care what you people say..... I am not going sub-ohm!unless........I get some 3mg nic juice!!!!

ok let me just first say, 35 gauge kanthal sounded like such a good idea, really it did. but the darn freakin springiness just doesn't leave it. ever. serious pita. maybe one day in the future i will try revisiting it but for now no thanks. so being fresh out of kanthal again i just stuck some premade wicks and coils in there and man is it tough to get the coils in there. and it doesn't seem to work as well as the stock dual coil even though it's 0.1 ohms lower res. argh. ah well at least it works sorta. here are some pics

Absolutely! That looks sick as tits yo! If you have a mini blowtorch you can try unravelling the premade coils and wrap them again in micro coil fashion. Otherwise, have you tried triple twisted lengths? Might work. Just take three equal lengths of your 35g kanthal, hold them together, get someone to grasp one end with some pliers, you hold the other end with some pliers and start twisting vigorously. When twisted enough it becomes one solid length with a significantly higher resistance. Also, feel free to only use 3 coils if you have to. Sum of each coil divided by 3 equals total resistance. Helluva nice picture!
Edit: The blowtorch is for straightening the kanthal after you've unwrapped it.

Finally decided to get a RDA, finally settled on a Trident from VapeMob(LEGENDS OF NOTE). Did a build on it today and it is wicked. Now I know why everyone likes drippers. Flavor is intense and the build is so easy to accomplish with those nice posts that just screw down on the coil.
Anyways, here is my first attempt. Dual 28 gauge Kanthal, 7/8 wraps coming to 0.6 ohms. Vaping the Strapple, from VapeMob(AWESOME JUICY RED FIZZ POP SUCKER FLAVOR).
Wrapped the coils on a 1.2mm drill bit, made them tight as a tiger with some tweezers.
These puppies start glowing instantly, they do start from the center going out but so fast, a blink and you miss it.
Wrapped a kind of dog tail cotton wick, just slipping the cotton ends slightly beneath the coils on the alternate sides.
This is intense, both flavor, TH and Vapor. It is most definitely a direct to lung vape. The throat cannot handle such an intense burst. It sounds like an 50cc snot separator when firing. Gurgles like a cat with a fur ball. 5 second deep pull is all you need with this one. It is a "DO NOT VAPE IN PUBLIC" kind of vape, they may just think you where doing something very illegal with the loads of vapor billowing forth from this little beast.
Honestly, it is not an everyday vape kind of build, it is a vape once in a while, make huge clouds, get a quick fix, kind of vape. 3 pulls and the room is hotboxed, 5 pulls and the chamber is dry, you become dizzy and forget where you are, "Gorrilla's in the Mist", comes to mind, while the nic rush gives you a kind of 'Blue Lagoon' feel.
The only issue I have is that the Trident becomes hot to the touch after a while, not that I blame it, at 0.6 ohms those coils glow hotter than the sun.

Boom shakalak boom! Glad you've finally found the Trident @Chop007. Try to be careful with the o-rings on the bottom deck. Mine started tearing in about a week but I think I was too rough on it when assembling the top cap. It's better to just gently twist the top cap on.
A lot of folks say the same of drippers. I vaped my Trident all day for about two weeks and still use it about 80% of the time. The Kayfun just hangs around for the sake of variation. I don't know, once I got used to that awesome throat hit and flavour everything else just seemed mediocre. I coil at 0.6 - 1.0 ohms.
From the pic it looks like a properly thick piece of cotton you threaded through there. A good looking coil and wick setup for sure! Thanks for sharing the awesome coils!

Thanks @Reinvanhardt that is awesome of you to say. I find the exact same situation is happening with me. My Trident is becoming a major part of my day, my Russian 91% clone is just there for amusement or when too busy to enjoy the vape. Tops is still the Aqua though, I just love that dual coil RBA.
Just picked up some new Purple Efest IMR 18650 LI-MN 30A at 2100mah batteries from VapeMob(Legends), going to try a .4 ohm coil on the Trident and see how she vapes.
Not sure if I should try a Nano coil or just a micro coil, I am still trying to get the cotton just right. That build had way too much cotton packed in. Going to try with a little less cotton, maybe it will hold more juice and be less constrictive to the flow.
Very well done man, quick one, we tested the svd and it actually fires all the way down to 0.8 ohms, takes long to ramp up the heat tho but its doable.. Drilling out the air hole makes it a completely new vape experiance on the LOk so hot off the press:

reading all of this about dripping 18mg....am I the strange one here? I have been dripping 18mg Boba's for the past 2 weeks, currently on the Enigma @0,5 ohms, and it is a good vape for me? No Silver for me....
maybe its because I dont chase TH. I enjoy the flavour much more and dont inhale so deeply...

I can drip 18mg doing mouth to lung hits BUT.. I have become use to lung inhales on a dripper and that I can only do at 6mg. I did a lung inhale yesterday out of habit only it was 18mg juice and my lungs swore at me, my chest tightened and I had a bit of a sputtering cough.

I also frequently drip 18mg VM4 @ 0.6 ohms. Direct lung hits about 50% of the time. Delicious!
