My package is at customs for 4 days now,if i didnt call them and ask where my package is and gave them my email address and contact number, they wouldn't be able to send me the forms and fees to pay to get it released,(still waiting for the amount to get it released) I asked vapes to sort it out as I dont know how to deal with customs clearance etc. He just said they will contact me, but they didn't even have my correct number. Its almost a month now since paying for my products. I really hope everything arrives in good condition and not the wrong products. I have a feeling its not going to be the correct liquids and ecigs. I still feel its his job to sort everything out with customs, as I am the customer and expect to only order and pay him and that my items arrive at my house. Will keep you updated

It's pathetic that we have such crap service for such an expanding market. Those who put their services and customers first are the ones who get vaping, and get shit done. Vaping in SA is a community, vendors who don't understand that shouldn't be vendors at all... Thanks for the warning.

i am chipping in now as well. there is no way that a customer, who spent a lot of money, can be left in the dark. Especially after this story became an open story. The vendor should have done his utmost to resolve it, via phone, email....even here, to show that he is doing it.
There is nothing worst then leaving his customer in the unknown for so long. I would have had sleep issues over that.

To me this is highly unprofessional and unacceptable. I would not buy anything there, nor would I recommend a business like that. And that is based on just following this thread, and what has been done to resolve it.... which was very little. 2 or 3 posts is not sufficient, and then keeping quiet again.

What is actually the legal rights for the customer? Regarding returning unwanted items? Here in the EU you can order anything online, check it out and if you do not like it you can return it to the vendor, without stating a reason. The vendors even pay for the return shipping ;)
If there is an option like that, I personally would return the goods.

I really wanted to give this "vendor" the benefit of the doubt, but the more I think about this (just read his other thread on the subject of batteries) .....

Yes, i'm a noob but what he says about mech mods matched to atomizers but not...something about coils, does not make sense.
As for Trustfire, they have a reputation - in the context of high-power LED torches. And Ultrafire too. Ultrafire not bad, but not good. Trustfire i would not buy.

I'm a noob too when it comes to mechs, never owned one or even seen one and I can tell this guy doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, just selling cheap crap for real money, so what if people kill themselves with it

@bjorncoetsee honestly, you should find out about claiming your money back, and not accepting the goods. This is drop shipping, he even leaves you to sort out customs. You wanted to buy something from a vendor locally, not from a chinese vendor. It would have been cheaper to order directly at FT, with the same amount of work for you. You should not have to call customs, or have forms sent back and forth....nevermind pay any duties. Full Stop.

The more I read about it here, the more upset I get. I am not the one who got BS....but this is bad for this community, that is what sucks! It took 8 months to get this where it is.... with all the peeps helping each other out. Someone in dire straits? No problem....there was some kind of help around the corner. And now this???

@Vapes you must have followed this forum; and noticed the spirit? So, why are you trying to do this kind of business, in such an unprofessional manner? Rather go to bidorbuy then. But, if you just screwed up because of lack of knowledge how to run a business, then keep your drop shipment, refund the buyer and learn out of YOUR mistake! It is certainly not the buyer's mistake, he did no more then pay you for a service.

I agree with @RevnLucky7 that it is also our responsibility as a customer/consumer to check the integrity and reputation of a business we wish to buy from.
Whether it is R100 or R5000 that we spend, it is OUR hard earned money at the end of the day and it does come down to ourselves figuring out which business is legit, and which isn't.

When i first started vaping, it was on a twisp. Why twisp? Because i didn't know that anything better existed. I only found this forum while looking for an upgrade. (Please note i do not mean twisp is a bad product. Just saying i personally didnt have much enjoyment and satisfaction from it)

The beauty about a forum is that it brings like minded people together, and pool together resources and knowledge for each other's benefit. I read reviews on this forum, other forums, and videos on youtube and made my decision on which device i should upgrade to. The next part was for me to figure out where to get it from. This forum helped again! I read through the reviews for all the retailers i saw who offered the products i wanted to buy and i made my choice.

The users of a forum, and especially this one, are generally trustworthy and honest. This eventually rubs on me as a member of this community and in turn lowers my guard a bit as to who i give my money to.
Hence, i think it would be a good idea if untrustworthy retailers are stripped of the certified badge and are made normal members. They could still advertise their business by means of their signature banner. Certified retailer badges should be given on merit.
I personally feel that the certified badge means that the forum management, and the forum as a whole concurs that the retailer is a trustworthy retailer with great customer support.
All of this is just my humble opinion.

all correct, however, there should be some kind of protection in place? Not from this forum obviously....but by law. Like said, here in the EU you can buy online whatever you want and if you receive it and have a change of mind you can return it instantly (or even within 28 days) and be refunded. No questions asked, does not matter why you return the goods. That is decent protection from being BS'ed! And from what I see this system is not abused by people doing fun buys. That would be stupid anyways as you still have to bring it to the courier or Post.

This whole story is very upsetting. I actually did a bit of searching around 'bigslickshop' and there are a few complaints linked to them on hellopeter for exactly this kind of issue. When you check their facebook page they acknowledge being worldwide electronics drop shippers. This kind of legit conartistry makes me so angry!!
They clearly saw an opening in a relatively new market and had previous connections to chinese suppliers who could provide vaping gear and so vapes is seemingly just a spinoff of a preexisting dodgy drop shipping company. One that never responded to the hello peter complaints, and thinks there half baked responses here are acceptable. And as above the battery thread was very illuminating, trustfire and ultrafire batteries r rather different things, by the end of that thread I couldnt even tell which they stocked, first its trustfire, then ultrafire and the understanding of either was nonexistent.
Sadly with the customs thing, I may be wrong but its the person whose name is on the consignment that pays the duties so vapes may agree to pay and never actually do it, if you want the parcel you may have to pay. I would like to not judge this transaction but all of this is rather condeming. I will never buy from vapes, And I dont mind if my judgement offends vapes representatives if this is how they treat their customers. I hope it comes right for the buyer and the parcel is what was expected, if not the police route is the only option in my mind, I know its alot to deal with and you will recieve little in return but it may help other people not become victims of the same.

Still can't get hold of the right person to speak at customs, they just tell me im at the wrong section, and they put me through to another person, waiting 10 minutes, then that person puts me through to ago, I wasted over R300 aittime just yesterday and sorted nothing out, and vapes ignores my whatsapp messages. I sent him a message to give me a refund. I don't know what to do anymore.

do we have any legal professionals on the forum? Somebody please help this guy out...

@bjorncoetsee if I was closer I would go and chat with this joker.

Im in bloemfontein, don't know where this crook lives, but I doubt that I'll just chat with him if I find him.

I've had stuff coming in with DHL and I always talk to them re customs on my incoming stuff. Surely you can talk with TNT?

Thats who I called in the first place then they said they cant help me and put me through to their customs department, and they again put me through to another person and that person to another person, then I waited and waited and nobody answers. I tried over 5 times this week

F : 086 502 7156
john.puluza@tnt.com

Have sent him an email just waiting for response, their phones aren't being answered

Wow, this whole story is quite unbelievable and infuriating.... I really hope you come right with something @bjorncotsee.

I agree that you should track this guy down and try and get your cash back rather, a guy like this doesnt desrve to get away with your hard earned cash.

And if not I hope you get your parcel and it is what you ordered in the first place.

Also really hope this guy gets removed from the retailers section, forum and is shunned as much as possible until this whole situation is rectified and vapes gets his act together... Uncool

It really shouldn't be the the customers problem to clear parcels from customs. Really shocking.
