What's in your hand right now?

Finally finished my DNA250C, sort of a Dovpo Riva style with dual 18650's behind the pcb/screen.
Wood is Balau decking offcut that @Resistance gave me about 6 yrs ago, top and bottom panels are denim micarta that I squeezed/cast myself.

The front panel is held on with 2mm dia pins from a Jaguar needle roller bearing.
Fire button is a 12mm dia perspex with a pocket cut for a slice of abalone shell and covered with clear casting epoxy for that rounded glass drop look. That way the charging led under the fire tact switch creates a ring of light around the fire button and I didnt need to drill a small hole over the onboard charge led.
Screen is Kristal 50, a 2 part casting epoxy and the up/down/select buttons are 3mm dia brass brazing rod.

Total weight is 227g, with batts but no atomizer, so lighter than my Vaporflask Stout which is 254g with a single 26650.

that looks AMAZING!

I am hoping to post my build soon as well.

how do you get to the batteries?
is the wood a basic C frame and front panel and denim Micarta the basic structure?

what battery connectors did you use?

would you mind showing the device "open" so we can see where the batteries sit?

Basic wood before shaping. I used a 19mm forstner bit for the batt holes,
Wood body is 73mm high to accommodate the 70mm pcb.
The denim is just top and bottom caps 7mm thick, with the top cap pocketed underneath the 510 for a bit of clearance.

The batts stay inside but can be removed if they need to be replaced, just 3 SS wood screws.
DNA250C has balanced onboard charging, Ive checked mine at 1.09 A.
Contacts were scrounged out of a triple 18650 batt sled.
The top contacts are soldered with a 1cm bit of wire between and bridge the batts creating a series connection, they are the connecting point for the balance /charge tap, so I have 1 wire running from the bottom behind the pcb up to the contact bridge.

my attempt is very different.
batteries will be hot swaopable, so I jsut cary a fully charged set.
battery door will be a manget attached side panel kind of like the Lost vape Centaurus box mod.
PCD will be in line wiht the batteries so closer in set up to the C frame mods.

your design is awesome. I would have gone LiPO instead of 18650 if the plan was to charge via the micro USB connector. you definately have the space for a decent one
