Zirconium Wire Anyone?

Fair comment ... You have embarked on a fairly long term test, however it seems to be showing promise.
As to the odd gauge sizes ... Your guess is as good as mine ... I have noticed some wire suppliers quoting rounded decimal too
I used to use 28ga by choice for MTL but just found 26ga that much easier to work with so actually 27ga (middle of the road) is perfect for me, I wish all wire types for vaping were regularly found in gauge 27!

My supplier sells metric sized wire, so although I refer to them as 26 and 28 Gauge, it's probably fairer to say they're closer to what you use, as they're more like 26.5ish and 28.5ish Gauge :-D

GaugeAWG (Imperial)AWG (Metric)
220.0253"0.6426mm
230.0226"0.574mm
240.0201"0.5106mm
250.0179"0.4547mm
260.0159"0.4038mm
270.0142"0.3606mm
280.0126"0.32mm

Yeah once it goes below 0.30 it's just too thin unless can make fused clapton, Aliens etc and use more as an outer binding, when it comes to this I am 100% unskilled! :(

So impressed with Zirconium it was the natural choice when bringing the Tokamak out to play!

A post made by kirbyclouds on another forum:

"I didn’t read all of the replies but in case it wasn’t said: zirconium is great for vaping because it’s chemically inert like most glass, but unlike glass, it’s way stronger (it’s literally called ceramic steel) so it’s much less likely to break. I’m not familiar with zirconium wire specifically but that’s about the gist of it so you can see where the inert aspect combined with the strength of the material could be appealing because it shouldn’t contaminate the vapour or its flavour."
