Just a suggestion - what if a switch was used for the up and down buttons that was similar to the VTR rotary dial? I am thinking more like a thumb wheel that could rotate up or down (not continuous rotation) and this thumb wheel could be near the fire button.

@devdev that will require different electronics, the DNA30 (which seems to be internationally the most popular) only use up /down switches and not a rotary potentiometer like the VTR.

but the dna30 does cost a pretty penny. might i suggest something like the vamo v5 pcb you found the other day? you can get like 5 of those as opposed to one dna30. will keep costs way down and the dna30 can be offered as an upgrade option :) also if the whole thing can get modularised enough, then the device can be offered as a mech or elec with the user able to swop out bits. ok that last part was a bit over the top :)

Where do we source RM2 RDA? ( knockoffs will suffice for the first couple of proto-types) or do anyone else suggests a better bottom fed RDA?
3 & 6mm drip bottles should be easily available at local pharmaceutical packaging stores
Silicone drip tubes we can get locally at Carlin Medical Extrusions

I love how things are going at the moment :D

@johanct the RM2 can only be bought from Reosmods, but there are other bottom feeder RDA's out there, maybe cheaper and perhaps also clones available for testing purposes. Will need to have a look. Unless someone wants to donate their RM2 for science ;) (thought at $43 I highly doubt that)

Thanks for the info @Vapey McJuicy - in the interim I've established that any RDA can be used - you just need to either drill the centre pin or cut a groove in the centre pin to bottom feed and drain.

I worked on a kind of RDA a while back, Voodoo.
Maybe we can modify it to suit and then get one printed to check details?
Let me know?Untitled.png

Yeah, we can definately organise the RDA to suit. Thinking of getting the mech done and work further on the RDA as we go to suit the mech maybe. For now, I think we must focus on the mech.

Hey guys, looked into 30W chips a couple weeks back, registered as a reseller with Evolv and was then told that due to current demand they are not taking on new customers for the DNA20&30's. So I did some looking into china, ecigar make the SX300 DNA30 clone... Working on a small quantity order including shipping, vat and the usb charging circuit would be in the region of R550-R600 each. Still fairly pricey but would think the quality is decent as sigelei use their 20W chips.

Power: 7W-30W
Voltage: 4V-8.5V
Atty: 0.5ohm - 3ohm
Current Limit: 10A
Dimensions: 39.5 x 19.5 x 16mm

Thanks for that @drew - can you get hold of a Data Sheet, without it we are lost?

0.5 ohms and 10 amps? thats pretty awesome

Nice find @TylerD - suggest we source as far as possible locally - I have never hold a Reo in my hands, but from pics the assembled bottle consists of bottle + drilled cap + silicone tube + o-ring inside bottle cap

Just looked at the spec sheet again and remember what put me off... has that same gimicky gravity sensing system as the sigelei legend, at least they ditched the shake to get into the menu.

I don't want to interfere with the great process going on, but just wanted to add in something...

I met with @TylerD today and we discussed the Afriville project.

We were thinking that this device has to aim to be better than the current REO.
- it should have the option of being operated in electrical regulated or pure mechanical mode
- it should have a bigger juice bottle than the REO. Why not 7ml or 8ml
- it should have enough battery capacity to at least match a 18650
- of course, it must vape as good as or better than the REO ( I suppose this has a lot to do with the design of the atomiser)

Now, I don't have a REO nor am I going to be as involved in the design as you guys are, but I do agree with the above points.

Just adding some views - not to prescribe anything at all...

PS: @TylerD, please add in anything if I left something out - or change if I got something wrong.

@Silver you're not interfering at all, without comments like yours we will never be able to put the best unit out there! I 100% fully agree with your valuable comments. As a side note, the end-product must look like a piece of jewelry, Vapers must not just buy it for its magnificent performance, but also because of the looks - it must create that "awe I want it". I've seen it numerous times in my career - all my clients who've put a stunning good looking product out on the market were successful (an old jew once made the following statement to me: ".... if your product looks like a prized piece of jewelry, you can put crap in there and still sell more than your competition ...").
